Results use US English formatting (1,234.56) and show up to 6 decimal places with trailing zeros removed. Very small results appear in scientific notation, such as 9.0949e-13, instead of rounding to zero.

• The UK imperial gallon is 4.54609 L, so the same car shows a miles-per-gallon figure about 20% higher in the UK than in the US.
• To estimate US mpg from L/100 km, divide 235.2 by the L/100 km figure.

• Gallons, quarts, pints and cups are US customary units. UK imperial units are about 20% larger and are not supported.
• Converts volume to volume only. Converting to weight needs the density of the material.
